Organisation of Enrichment Programs
We believe that those enrichment programs that are well-structured and organised will be able to provide more novelty, variability and stimulation to the animals, no matter how small the facility or animal group. This usually involves setting up an enrichment Schedule, Inventory, Staff Rota, Safety & Approval process, and Record-taking system. You could use a cyclical application, review and adaptation process to continually update your program and ensure that the enrichment devices are promoting the behaviours and positive affective states that you want them to.
